There are many systems for the romanization of the Thai language. In practice, often non-standard and inconsistent romanizations are used.

When you get a hang of the Thai handwritings, your understanding of the Thai culture will improve naturally.

There are over 20 million people who speak the language of Thai. It is closely related to Chinese. Spoken Thai is mutually intelligible with the language of Laos. The two languages are written with slightly different scripts but are linguistically similar.

There are no articles in Thai like "the" or "a" in English. Thai nouns do not have a grammatical gender. And the verbs do not have grammatical tenses, such as go/went/gone.The grammar is similar to Chinese except for some word orders. The numerals (1, 2, 3, 4, ...) sound pretty much like those of Chinese. And both languages have tones.
